  • ibuprofen can help bring a fever down.

However, a mild fever may be helping combat the virus or bacterium that is causing the infection. It may not be ideal for bringing it low.

Bacterial infection:

If a bacterial infection has caused the fever, the physician may prescribe an antibiotic.

Viral infection:

If a fever has been caused by a cold, which is caused by a viral infection, NSAIDs may be used, such as panadol cf, Arinac, etc. to relieve uncomfortable symptoms. Antibiotics do not affect viruses & will not be prescribed by your physician for a viral infection.

Dehydration:
